THE AUTHOR - My Story

I am an author shaped not just by imagination, but by resilience

A few years ago, my life changed in a way I could never have anticipated. One Sunday morning, I woke up feeling unusually tired—nothing alarming at first, just a sense that my body needed rest. But by the next day, everything had shifted. My legs were weak, my body unfamiliar, and what began as a quiet unease quickly became something far more serious.

I was later diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)—a condition that affects how the brain communicates with the body. The simplest way to describe it is this: the “software” in my brain misfires, sending the wrong signals. Some days, my legs and arms don’t cooperate. My speech can disappear without warning. At times, everything feels overwhelming, as though my own body has become unpredictable terrain.

Living with FND means navigating constant uncertainty, as well as chronic pain that can be both physical and emotional. Yet within that struggle, I’ve found something powerful: perspective. I know there are others who experience this condition more severely, and others who are fortunate to have milder symptoms. Each story is different, but all of them deserve to be seen and understood.

Through my writing, I aim to do more than tell stories—I want to give voice to experiences that are often overlooked. Awareness of FND remains limited across the world, even within parts of the medical community. That lack of understanding can be one of the hardest challenges of all. So I write not only as an author, but as an advocate—someone determined to bring light to a condition that so many people are still learning about.

My journey hasn’t been easy. There are days when everything feels like a battle. But it has also taught me strength I didn’t know I had, and a deep appreciation for every moment of clarity, movement, and expression.

This is not just my story—it’s part of a much larger one. And by sharing it, I hope to connect, to raise awareness, and to remind others that even in the face of uncertainty, there is still meaning, purpose, and a voice worth hearing.

THE CRAFT

Writing is a ritual of patience and passion. Each morning begins with the strike of a match and the aroma of old paper. Here, in the silence of the stacks, the world disappears. The process is one of uncovering rather than creating—listening to the whispers of characters until their truths are finally ready to be inked onto the page for eternity.
